The week after Christmas and New Year's Day is always an interesting one. It’s the week when we are in a frenzy returning the gifts that don’t fit or work, only to buy more new stuff at boxing day sales, end-of-year sales, new-year-sales.
It’s also a week to set us up for a new start: a year where we can resolve to consume less. By buying less. By buying better: items with longer-lasting quality, products with a high ratio of recycled content and products that are circular. These can be designed to be recyclable, so they can either be downcycled, or even better be regenerated to a raw material or equal quality than virgin material. Biodegradable options are also super easy on the environment.
I love the newly introduced footwear recycling program by TreadLightly. You can now take your worn-out safety boots to workwear and safety supply outlets such as Hippocket Australia, Access Workwear and Safety, Worklocker outlets in Australia and many other safety footwear retailers.
